12 New Music Discoveries – July 2022

Scared – LANI

I could not post this list without a ballad, and ‘Scared’ by singer-songwriter LANI was the perfect choice. LANI released her debut EP ‘Parables’ in 2021, and ‘Scared’ is her second single since. Every aspect of the song, the lyrics, the vocals, the melody, is executed beautifully.

SUNDANCE – Alon Mylo

Singer-songwriter and producer Alon Mylo has just released his debut ‘SUNDANCE’. The singer traverses across different genres to bring about his own sound. He also has synesthesia (so do I!) and visualises ‘SUNDANCE’ as cyan, hence the really cool cover art.

Expert In A Dying Field – The Beths

‘Expert In A Dying Field’ by New Zealand four-piece The Beths contains articulate lyrics and euphonious guitars, all lead by flawless vocals. Everything syncs so perfectly with each other, all while the sing asks deep questions that revert back to the abstract concept of love.
