“Jamie Kudo possesses the admirable skill of expressing himself articulately through music, exemplified very much so in ‘Supernova’.”
Jamie Kudo is a Mumbai-born musician based in London, formally known as Sid. Kudo’s debut ‘Supernova’ has truly established that he has now found himself in the music industry, representing relatability and authenticity.
When listening to ‘Supernova’, Kudo’s youthful and smooth yet experienced vocals are what you’ll first pick up on. He allows his emotions to conduct his voice eloquently, and this augments throughout the song. Lyrics like ‘I’ll be waiting for you back at home’ already provide nostalgia for the listener, but Jamie really does bring this nostalgia to life when singing.
Imagery is a flourishing factor of ‘Supernova’, and Kudo has described this imagery in detail. He said, “This track is like the first sip of whiskey that you drink taking off on a plane headed to a place you don’t know for two, maybe three or four years, looking out and watching your city get smaller in the distance.”
The singer-songwriter has cited the likes of Ed Sheeran and Lauv as influences, and ‘Supernova’ no doubt reflects this through a refreshingly modern instrumental whilst also maintaining the authenticity Kudo has found with his new image.
